Custom Applications

MOST CUSTOM APPLICATIONS REQUIRE A TEMPLATE

Crown and Base Molding Limitations

Minimum 36" radius for profiles 8” to 10" wide with no restricted flexibility
Minimum 24" radius for profiles 6" to 8" wide, and the profile will flex 2" larger or smaller
Minimum 18" radius for profiles 5" to 6" wide, and the profile will flex 3" larger or smaller
Minimum 12" radius for profiles 4" to 5" wide, and the profile will flex 4" larger or smaller
Minimum 8" radius for profiles 3" to 4" wide, and the profile will flex 5" larger or smaller
Minimum 6" radius for profiles 2" to 3" wide, and the profile will flex 6" larger or smaller

Elliptical Outboard Radius Limitations

Minimum 16" radius if the profile is 6" to 8" wide
Minimum 12" radius if the profile is 5" to 6" wide
Minimum 10" radius if the profile is 4" to 5" wide
Minimum8" radius if the profile is 3" to 4" wide
Minimum 6" radius if the profile is 2" to 3" wide

Oval, Elliptical and Odd Radius Casings
Make sure the template fits exactly inside the radius edge. Multiply the rise times 3 and add the width, next round up to the next even footage to get material length needed.
Rise" x 3 + width" = MATERIAL LENGTH

Round Column, Crown and Base Molding
Determine the exact diameter width of the column (1/2, 3/4 or FULL coverage) next determine length needed and add 2 feet to calculate the material length needed.

1/2 column: Rise" x 3 + width" = MATERIAL LENGTH

Irregular Radius Crown
Make a template that fits against the wall curve or fits to the outside edge of the dormer and mark the template with the molding position information this is important (check orientation page if not sure), don't disregard this factor. Determine length needed and add 2 feet (for waste factor).

1/2 column:  Diameter" round up to nearest EVEN footage + 2' = MATERIAL LENGTH
